Jubilee Time!

As the Queen's Jubilee is rapidly approaching I decided that I had better purchase a pair of Union Jack leggins, In which seem extremely popular on the high street at the moment. I thought about purchasing a pair from Republic but was drawn to these from Primark, at a bargain price of £6!

Chocolate Brown & Blue eyes.

I have neglected this blog for far too long!...so thought I'd do an update on whats been going on in my world. Recently I visited 'A 100 years of Photography' which is an exhibition in Bristol, this provided me with tons of inspiration. Also I thought I could do with doing something new to my hair....so finally it has been dyed...a rather darl/chocolate brown.

I fear that I have become obsessed with these 'woman beater' tops, mainly consisting of designs with either zebras or leopards on them ( dont ask why ) and I have a growing interest in crucifixes...whether they are jewelry or clothing designs. And of course my vintage eyeliner and lipstick. This has become a daily look....although some days I fancy a change.

The Guardian Posts

What we wear is increasingly shaped not by glossy magazines but by fashion bloggers – arbiters with a camera, a website and a sharp eye for clothes. Ever since the pioneering Bill Cunningham started his influential On the Street column in the New York Times, this breed of fashion photography has both moulded the fashion sensibilities of magazine readers and kept fashion houses in touch with what people are really wearing. Now via the internet, street style photography is a worldwide, viral phenomenon – and has opened a window onto current fashions in other cities and cultures. For those not privy to the catwalk shows, these fash-pack photographers are the closest many people get to witnessing couture in motion.

Marlwood Meets Media Masters

Yesterday I participated in a workshop run by my media teacher and our two visitors Phil Chamberlain and Myra Lee who are UWE lecturers and freelance journalists. The Thornbury Gazette also arrived at 12.45pm where they took a photo of our media group and the visitors, an opportunity was given for one of us to write the article of the day for the newspaper and I volunteered myself and it should be published next Friday, so keep an eye out for it! I was very pleased that I grasped this opportunity and I hope it helps me to gain experience and become noticed in the future.

Eugenio Recuenco

I found this image and I think that this is my intial idea for my AS Photography Exam, so far I am showing different aspects of age through using an artist called John Coplans. I think that this idea would allow me to progress and develop my ideas further as at the moment I am at a stand still. However not having a lot of time left I feel I need to introduce my idea of Fashion Decay as well as this is normally the type of Photography that I prefer. For me this image of a young male and  an old male smoking stands out for me as both seem to under go different lifestyles and I think in this image the idea of time passing is quite obvious. I need to take a shoot on this idea, as I think it'll be a good image for inspiration for my final piece.

My new found love for Area 51

Area 51 are a boy band that I was introduced to at my friends 17th birthday party, although they are not the usual type of music that i'd go for I was pleasantly suprised by their performance. These guys have a lot of talent and you can really see the passion that they have for music through the dedication of writing new songs as well as performing songs that they feel they can relate to. They are definitely a band to watch within their progression into the future as these guys are fantastic as well as having lovely personalities! Check their MySpace channel out! - http://www.myspace.com/area51cs

Well i'm sure you've heard it all before...
