The Guardian Posts
What we wear is increasingly shaped not by glossy magazines but by fashion bloggers – arbiters with a camera, a website and a sharp eye for clothes. Ever since the pioneering Bill Cunningham started his influential On the Street column in the New York Times, this breed of fashion photography has both moulded the fashion sensibilities of magazine readers and kept fashion houses in touch with what people are really wearing. Now via the internet, street style photography is a worldwide, viral phenomenon – and has opened a window onto current fashions in other cities and cultures. For those not privy to the catwalk shows, these fash-pack photographers are the closest many people get to witnessing couture in motion.

Marlwood Meets Media Masters
Yesterday I participated in a workshop run by my media teacher and our two visitors Phil Chamberlain and Myra Lee who are UWE lecturers and freelance journalists. The Thornbury Gazette also arrived at 12.45pm where they took a photo of our media group and the visitors, an opportunity was given for one of us to write the article of the day for the newspaper and I volunteered myself and it should be published next Friday, so keep an eye out for it! I was very pleased that I grasped this opportunity and I hope it helps me to gain experience and become noticed in the future.

Eugenio Recuenco
I found this image and I think that this is my intial idea for my AS Photography Exam, so far I am showing different aspects of age through using an artist called John Coplans. I think that this idea would allow me to progress and develop my ideas further as at the moment I am at a stand still. However not having a lot of time left I feel I need to introduce my idea of Fashion Decay as well as this is normally the type of Photography that I prefer. For me this image of a young male and an old male smoking stands out for me as both seem to under go different lifestyles and I think in this image the idea of time passing is quite obvious. I need to take a shoot on this idea, as I think it'll be a good image for inspiration for my final piece.

My new found love for Area 51
Area 51 are a boy band that I was introduced to at my friends 17th birthday party, although they are not the usual type of music that i'd go for I was pleasantly suprised by their performance. These guys have a lot of talent and you can really see the passion that they have for music through the dedication of writing new songs as well as performing songs that they feel they can relate to. They are definitely a band to watch within their progression into the future as these guys are fantastic as well as having lovely personalities! Check their MySpace channel out! - http://www.myspace.com/area51cs

Go for a girly shopping trip
Spring
Navy zip hoodie from - Newlook, Floral print dress and coral belt from - Primark.
This dress and belt were a total bargain, normally I go to primark for essential items such as tights or underwear but having brought a few cute dresses last year I managed to find this dress, the print is very loud and vibrant but I think it looks vintage and I love how it's the start of my "Spring Wardrobe"

Saatchi Gallery & National Portrait Gallery - London Trip
Recently I went on a school trip to London with the Art and Photography department to visit the Saatchi Gallery and the National Portrait Gallery. I found that I was more interested in the Saatchi gallery as it was more inspirational especially within the photography rather than the contempory art. I'd love to return to these galleries at a later date because I feel that not enough time was spent browsing them. Pictures will be uploaded at a later date.
Starships were meant to fly..
So, I have just come home from a very successful shopping trip in Cabot Circus were I purchased a lot of new clothes but here is a new top I brought, as my mum would describe it 'it's very me'...
Fashion Post #1
Today I was feeling slightly colourful, I digged out my old coral blouse in which I think I purchased in Newlook last summer. This shirt is also acompanied by my new denim distressed shorts in which I recently got from Newlook ( yes I love Newlook!) this is also paired with a pair of decent black tights and of course my lioness backcombed hair! - which I need to re-dye asap!
This time I am wearing my cream chunky knit cardigan from Urban Outfitters.

Wildlife Photographer of the Year
During February half term my mother and I went to explore the 'Wildlife Photographer of the year' exhibition situated in Bristol Museum. This was a fantastic exhibition and provided lots of inspiration for my work. I am not the most enthusiastic wildlife photographer but I will admit that this exhibition was well worth visiting and it allowed me to discover new artists and admire different cultural techniques and animal life. Here are a few of my Favourite images...
Lets start at the beginning
This year I started using a blog for my photography coursework as I thought it would be a good way of introducing my work. I'm the type of person that around about 18 months a go would have been overly shy and quiet, but 18 months from then I have become more confident and i'd like to show my work so this will be a mixture of my photography, art, fashion and general inspirations and main ideas. I love vintage style clothing and ornaments, although the majority of what I like to wear is high street fashion and general trends from looking at fashion magazines. I guess people think I take too many photos and I am vain but actually only interested in fashion and taking pictures.
